Residents at Springhill Care Home are taking part in a national birdwatching initiative with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
We have signed up to the Big Garden Birdwatch which is taking place on the last weekend in January (26th -28th) and we are looking forward to seeing some great breeds.
During the weekend we will work with residents looking at and identifying birds in the garden.
We will then report our observations back to the RSPB to help them monitor British garden birds – looking at trends of increase or a decline in the different species.
In preparation for this we have made some bird feeders and hung them up on one of the trees outside to try and attract some birds to that area which we can easily monitor.
We have some enthusiastic bird watchers who are thoroughly looking forward to identifying them.
