A resident from Springhill Care Home, Accrington, has seen her sewing skills praised by the Pope.
Ann Whitaker, 53 was delighted to receive a response to the letter she sent to Pope Francis along with a photograph of her sewing and could not wait to show everyone.
The letter from the Vatican thanked Ann for the thoughtful gesture and enclosed a medal that had been blessed by the Pope.
Religion is an important part of Ann’s life and she attends church regularly, she also visited Lourdes a few years ago with St Mary’s RC church, Oswaldtwistle and she had a wonderful time.
At just three months old, Ann was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and lived with her parents for many years. After making the decision to move into independent accommodation, Ann settled at Springhill Care Home.
Ann is a lively presence around the home and she always gets involved in the activities and goings on, making lots of friends along the way.
