At Springhill Care Home we are committed to supporting not just our residents, but also their friends and families.
We have found this particularly important when it comes to dementia care, as the journey our residents and their loved ones take can be particularly challenging.
To this end, we have launched a special dementia forum for the relatives and friends of residents we are caring for in our dementia service.
This forum is designed to be a welcoming and confidential setting for people to share their experiences of the dementia journey.
Our first meeting was held in January, and 14 people attended who we hope benefited from the experience. Further sessions will be held on the first Tuesday of each month, from 2pm here at Springhill.
There is so much that we can achieve through this forum, and we hope to invite people with specialist knowledge to join us on occasion, to offer advice on topics ranging from finances to powers of attorney.
